Cacao Preparation
There is no wrong way to prepare your cacao, as long as it is done with intention and reverence.
I recommend taking a moment to breathe deeply into your body and ask for guidance about what it needs before you begin. Make the preparation an act of ceremony, staying present in your body and with your senses in every moment, and being thoughtful about honoring the cacao and its ancient roots.
Heat 8 oz. (or a mug full) of water or the milk of your choice.
Blend water or milk with the cacao disks, as well as any other ingredients you fancy. (I recommend an immersion blender. Ensure that whatever you use is not completely sealed off so that the steam can escape.)
For example: coconut oil for thickness, stevia or honey for sweetness, and cayenne or cinnamon for a zing.
Pour into your favorite mug, inhale the smell deeply, express gratitude for the cacao and the hands that lovingly cultivated it and delivered it to you, and set an intention for your experience.
