Eclipse season is a time of rapid change and realignment with our path. Big endings, tentative beginnings, and lots of emotions rise to the surface during this time.
During a solar eclipse in particular, the moon blocks out a portion of the sun. The Sun represents our identity and sense of self, while the moon represents our vulnerabilities and our emotional body.
On October 2, there will be a partial solar eclipse in Libra, with a square to Mars in Cancer, which could bring up inner child sensitivities and perceived injustices and “wrongs.” The thing about eclipses is that there is nothing that you need to do to acknowledge them or direct them, they just rumble through and require us to surrender.
Come surrender with me, let go of your attachments, soothe your emotions, and connect with your body and with Spirit.
In this space we will pause to acknowledge what is here, breathe through it all, and deepen into balance, connection, and love with reiki.
No fancy rituals.
No frills.
Just you, your breath, and your energy.
the path will be revealed.
If you are new to breathwork with Mandy, you will be asked to fill out a breathwork waiver and release form prior to the circle. If this is your first time practicing breathwork, please indicate below and Mandy will contact you with a prep video and some tips.
Here are some recommendations to set yourself up to have the best possible experience:
Be careful not to eat anything heavy for 1-2 hours prior to the session
Make sure you are well hydrated and bring water with you
Wear comfortable clothes. Jeans are not recommended, nor is anything that restricts your midsection.
Bring a journal and something to write with.
Choose a location that is private and where you can lay down and not be constricted (a bed is fine; I prefer the floor).
Headphones will allow you to be more fully immersed in the musical experience. I design the playlist to take you on a specific journey and the music is very important. If you are using bluetooth headphones, make sure they are charged up.
You can bring a pillow for under your knees, and have a blanket handy as well.
If you like to use an eyemask, you can have one handy, or a soft hand towel if you don’t have an eye mask.
Breathwork can be an emotive practice for some people, so if you live with a partner or roommate, let them know that if they hear you shout or cry that you are ok.
Make this time sacred and set your mood. You may light candles, have meaningful/spiritual items near you, turn on a diffuser with soft essential oils that you’re used to (make sure these are far away from you), and really make the space yours. Stay away from burning sage or palo santo or anything strong that may irritate your airway.
